I had a treasure hunt theme party for my daughter when she turned 6 years old. She was in kindergarten at the time. We invited 15 kids who she went to school with. The party took place in our house (it was winter in the Midwest - brrr!). The treasure chest was hidden, and we started each kid off with 1 clue (since some could read and others not so well, we used picture clues). That clue led them to a place where they found the next clue, until they found the treasure chest and got to pick one prize. Sounds fun, right?
Pandemonium ensued when the 1st clue was handed out. The kids just started running rampant thru the house. My husband had lost his voice due to a cold so was loudly whispering "Stop Running"! And I tried to slow them down by physically getting in their path.
I'd like to try this type of party again in the future, but can't handle the chaos. Any ideas for crowd control are appreciated!
